Riichi Anywhere
Riichi Anywhere is Japanese riichi mahjong for iPhone, played entirely offline.
- Three or four players. Play at a four-player table or a three-player (sanma)
table — a single hand, an East game or a South game (the East and South rounds) —
against AI opponents at
four difficulty levels, from a beginner-friendly bot up to a policy network trained on
real play.
- Rules you can set. Built-in presets transcribed from Tenhou’s ranked-match rules
and the World Riichi Championship 2025 rules, and a ruleset editor for starting
points, uma, kuitan, red fives, kan-dora timing and dozens more.
- Learning. A guided first hand teaches tenpai, why a hand needs a yaku, and
furiten, and an in-game helper shows which yaku your hand can still complete.
- Review. After a game, walk through your decisions and see how often a model
trained on human play would have made the same move.
- History. Every finished game is kept on your iPhone, with statistics by rules,
table size and game length, backup and restore, and export as mjai or Tenhou logs.
No account, no ads, and the app makes no network connections of its own.
The free download and the unlock
The app is free to download. The free version plays games of one hand on the Tenhou
preset at both table sizes, with all four difficulty levels, the guided first hand, and
the review of your most recent game. A one-time in-app purchase unlocks East and South
games, the other presets and the ruleset editor, the review of any game, the
full statistics filters, and backup and export.
- Restoring the unlock on a new iPhone or after reinstalling: use Restore Purchases
in the app’s Settings, or on the unlock’s own page, signed in with the same Apple
Account you bought it with.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by the developer:
reportaproblem.apple.com.

- for a rules or scoring question, the ruleset, table size and game length, and which hand;
with the unlock, attach the game’s log too (History › the game › Export as mjai);
- a screenshot, if it shows the problem.
